Reviews- Infini by Krista & Becca Ritchie

Blurb:

"Don’t have a best friend that’s a girl" — this was the advice from my older cousin. I didn’t take it. Because he followed with, "friends don’t f*ck friends. And you’ll want to f*ck her."

It was terrible advice.

My cousin should’ve told me that being best friends with Baylee Wright — since she was twelve — would be the best and worst decision of my life.

He should have told me to protect her from what was coming.

He should have told me that when a darkness crawled towards us, there’d be no safety net.

Now I’ve signed back on to the same Vegas acrobatic show as Baylee, working together for the first time in years. And she tells me that she’s having trouble in a certain “area” of her life — because of our past.

“You can help me fix it,” she says.

And then she hands me a list.

REVIEWS:

Amy's 5-Star Review:

I've been anxiously awaiting the return of the characters from Aerial Ethereal since reading Amour Amour last year. I couldn't wait to delve back into this world and back into the folds of the always engaging Kotova family. We learned very little of Luka Kotova back in Amour Amour, but he still intrigued me.

From AA, we know that Luka steals things...and randomly odd things. InInfini, we learn a bit of the reasoning behind his motives. Luka, quite literally, has the biggest heart of any character I've ever read about. He cares and loves deeply, especially when it comes to Timofei and Katya. We also learn that Luka has been hiding a secret from most of his family for several years, and we see the havoc that secret has caused not only him, but Baylee.....the other half of his heart and soul. While I won't get into details because I don't want to give any spoilers, let me just say that Luka Kotova is an amazing character. He selfless, always looking for ways to makes things easier for his family and anyone who he cares about.

Baylee....she's just as selfless as Luka, and she's also not had an easy road. She has her own issues that she must battle in this book and figure out which battles are worth fighting and which are best let go. She picks her battles wisely. She also loves deeply, especially when it comes to her older brother, another new-to-us character in the AE world.

While Luka & Baylee captured my attention, the person I was most surprised by was Dimitri. In AA, we didn't get to know him all that well, and the bits we did see made me wonder about him. In this book, I'm astonished by his depth of character and his deep-seated love for his extended family. I really, really, really hope that Krista & Becca have a story in store for Dimitri, because I think he would blow our socks off!

This book was definitely an emotional roller coaster with all the dips, valleys, loops and peaks. I wanted to scream in hope, joy, frustration and sadness. There was one character in particular who I absolutely despised. I've never wanted to jump into a book to pummel an individual so much! That being said, the way the performers bonded together at a critical point was nothing short of beautiful.
Circus is family .....it's not just a saying; it's the Kotova way of life and it's an extraordinary thing to behold.

Shanda's 5-Star Review:

5 “Some Love is Infinite” StarsI have said this many times before but nobody tells a story about family like the Ritchie sisters. Infini was no exception. They can weave a beautiful romance for a couple and still manage to give you lots of time with their inner circle without the story suffering. The first few chapters of Infini were heartbreaking. Luka begins to tell his story and it was raw. You felt the pain he was in when he tells of his lost love Baylee. Baylee’s POV hadn’t even been introduced and you felt like you were already invested in their love story.

“I have lived partially. Halfly. Incompletely. To be whole, I did not know until my bones thundered and bellowed for more.”
<-----Hands down one of the most beautiful quotes I have ever read.

Luka and Baylee met in their teens performing in Aerial Ethereal. They are torn apart due to a stipulation in contracts for underage performers. The separation is so extreme they don’t get to say goodbye and their hearts are left in limbo. Now legal adults they are pushed together again to perform in Infini
but they are still bound by their contract. The angst is heavy in this story. But their forbidden love is too strong and eventually the tension between Baylee and Luka explodes. "All I know is what I feel. And I'm in love with you, Bay. Right now. Not just five years ago - but here, today. Yesterday. Tomorrow. It's forever kind of love, and I'm not letting go. I can't let go."This story has several heavy topics as you learn some of Luka’s issues and Baylee’s pain and need to be whole. You will also fall in love with all of the side characters. I was excited to get more tidbits into John and Timo’s relationship. There is heartbreaking news for Nikolai and Thora and an introduction to Sergei; the Kotova brother they feel abandoned them. Katya completely stole my heart and I am hoping we get to see her grow more. And that Dimitri is going to steam up the pages when he gets his book. Plus as a bonus; if you are a big fan of the Addicted series like I am, you are going to be screaming with joy over all the mentions.

Infini can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend you read Amour Amour. Each character and couple in the Aerial Ethereal universe are unique and worth the journey. Here's to hoping the Ritchie sisters can write more in this universe.

★ INFINI is a standalone romance novel set in a captivating & exclusive Vegas world: a high-risk acrobatic circus.

Death-defying acts are just another day at work for the Aerial Ethereal troupe, and you'll see Luka Kotova, a 20-yr-old Russian-American, break some of the biggest rules of the company.
All to follow his heart.
